Our family's rabbit experience began in 1982 with
7 year old daughter Beth asking for a bunny for her birthday. That first
Netherland Dwarf led us to the local 4H Rabbit club, then to a show, and we were
hooked. We actively attended local and national shows, with the rabbitry growing
to 150 animals as both Beth and Rene were youth exhibitors.
In 1991, with both girls in high school, I acquired Otter Netherland Dwarfs, a
new variety, and continued the hobby myself. I became involved with the ANDRC as
the club's Historian, also serving on the Special Awards Committee. I was asked
by Chris Hayhow to help develop the ARBA Hall of Fame Library in 1997, and have
served on that committee since. I am the President of the Mid Atlantic
Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club. I continue to maintain a herd of about 50 Dwarfs,
and continue to serve both the ANDRC and ARBA.
