Kentucky - A BIG Congratulations to the Team of Presenter’s that brought the 2008 ARBA Convention back to Louisville. Everyone is already working hard at getting things moving toward a very enjoyable and successful time for all that will attend.

Congratulations to Jenny Tice on winning BIS with a beautiful Belgian Hare. Out of the 1642 ARBA sanctioned shows held in the fiscal year of 2006 - 2007, only three times the BIS was awarded to the Belgian Hare. Jenny now has the distinction of having maybe the first BIS for the 2008 year.

Congratulations to the group winners: Larry & Sue West ~ Mini Lop, George & Kathy Carpenter ~ Florida White and Mary & Julia Rittenour ~ Havana. Susan Lybolt took both top honors in the Open Cavy show winning Best in Show and Reserve In Show.

In the youth portion of the show, BIS was awarded to a to beautiful New Zealand owned by Alexandra Reau. Congrats Alexandra and to the group winners: Katlyn Cowles ~ Mini Lop, Daniele Cale ~ Florida White.

On Saturday night of Convention weekend, we held our annual Awards Banquet. Several very special awards were presented to members who have contributed greatly to the growth and development of our wonderful association. Our 2008 Master Breeder Award recipient’s are George & Kathy Carpenter. The Dean Daglow Good Guy Award recipient is Bob Vitek and Willis Plank was awarded the Helping hands Award. Congratulations to all these very deserving members.

Plaques were also presented to George Carpenter (past President), Dennis Sulpher (past Vice President), Jackie DeArmond (past Secretary) and to Bonnie Hecksel ( retiring Open Show Circuit Chairperson) in recognition of their dedication to our association while serving in their respective positions.

The MSRBA conducted a very informative "Rabbit School" on Friday night of Convention weekend. The program was coordinated by Willis Plank. Thanks to: Ron Mauck, Bruce Ormsby & Darrell Howe for their educational & entertaining presentations.

Our sincere sympathy to Dennis Keefer on the loss of his father.

The OSRBA Show committee would like to announce all the rooms for the Ramada Plaza for the OSRBA show have been booked. They have made arrangements with the hotel across the street for this years convention. All desk people at Ramada Plaza are to be told to pass this on to people trying to book rooms this year.

The telephone number for the American Best Value Inn is 614-431-3670 with a special OSRBA room rate of $49.00 per night plus tax with cut date for this rate, April 21, 2008. Please note the later cut off date.

BIS 3/16/08 Maichelle Young Satin Way to go!!!

 

D8 had a really great showing at the PA mini convention! Gregg and Kristi Rogers took 6 class and BIS on Saturday with a NZ, as well as BOB/BIS in the NZ specialty. Kathy Flarey had Best 4 class with IFLY's Caliber a first time out Netherland Dwarf Chestnut Jr Buck, and BOB/BIS in the ND specialty! Hannah Means had Best in show Saturday with a NZ in youth! Karrina, Devin, and Damon Yoder won 2 BOB/BIS in the Holland Lop youth specialty shows.
Sunday Hannah Means had Best 6 class with a NZ in youth. The Howmans had Best 4 Class with a Mini Lop in open!
